Hi, I’m marina.

For over 20 years I have lived and breathed science, both in the lab and in classrooms and communities. I earned a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology and studied endocrinology and metabolism with a focus on insulin signaling. Beyond research, one of my greatest joys has been teaching. I have lectured in universities and also created hands-on science programs for children, always aiming to make knowledge exciting and meaningful.
Over time, my curiosity grew from hormones and metabolism into the fascinating world of the microbiome. I became passionate about how gut health influences energy, mood, and long-term wellness. This passion led me to become certified as a Nutrition Coach with Precision Nutrition, adding a practical layer to my scientific background. Today I bring that blend of science and coaching into my own family life, keeping our nutrition centered on gut-wise practices.
I was born in Brazil and now call Canada home. Living away from my roots has helped me recognize the power of traditional practices and has deepened my connection to South American wisdom. This is why I chose the name Arandu, a word from the Guarani language that means "wisdom, knowledge, and understanding." To me, Arandu represents the meeting point of science, lived experience, and ancestral wisdom. It is the foundation for guiding you on your own journey to wellbeing.
I am so glad you are here, and I look forward to walking alongside you as we build a path that feels nourishing and sustainable for your life.
Warmly,
Marina
